"The Morehouse OB/GYN proram was my number one choice, and I was ecstatic when they also chose me. The 4 years spent there was nothing short of transformative. No experience will compare to learning OB/GYN in the setting of a busy public safety net hospital in downtown Atlanta. This learning experience is supported by a close knit family of residents, faculty and administration who are all committed to excellence in patient care. I especially value the time spent developing skills in gynecological surgery with patient and excellent faculty. In reflecting on my time there, I have nothing but gratitude for the countless efforts made to push me to be the best I can be. It's exciting to start a new journey as a generalist with everything I have learned. My time at Morehouse will always hold a special place in my heart."

"Training at Morehouse was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I had the opportunity to be responsible for the care of some of the most high-risk patients and be a part of challenging operative cases that have more than prepared me for life outside of residency. All the while, I had wonderful attendings who were there to give expert advice along the way. Not only is the clinical training exceptional, but the family atmosphere is outstanding. Residency is hard, but being able to do it in an environment where everyone truly cared about me and my well-being made it that much easier. The people here really get to know you, inside and out, in order to provide you with what best serves your growth as a physician. I've formed relationships with people I will continue for years to come. MSM OBGYN is the one time you get to choose your family, and I have to say I made an amazing choice!"

“MSM was my #1 choice for OBGYN residency. I chose this program because the mission aligned with my career goals and I felt that it would be the best program to prepare me to return to rural Georgia to practice as a generalist.I learned so much during my time at MSM and I’ve seen a lot. I’ve also became more compassionate, learned the importance of respecting the nurses and other medical staff and I also learned how to lead. But the best thing about MSM is that I was trained by people who look like me and I never felt out of place or judged. And now that I’m an attending, the voices of my MSM Attendings echo in my head as I’m treating patients. I knew that I was lucky to train at MSM but I did not realize just how lucky I was until I started to practice on my own.”

  • Fyama Wenner, MD, FACOG Class of 2009

“Matching at Morehouse for Ob/Gyn was one of the best things that has happened to me in my professional career. I was taught by great physicians how to not only be a competent and skilled Ob/Gyn but how to also be an empathetic and compassionate doctor.

Working at a facility like Grady, showed me the impact that a physician can have on a community. We provide excellent care to an underserved community that may not otherwise be able to receive care due to lack of insurance.”
